Collaborative therapy for teens & young adults in Texas

Engaging counseling, customized to client interests.

Not many people look back at their teenage and early adult years as a breezy period in life.

It's rough trying to figure out your identity, sexuality, relationships, and when to apply your independence, while also dealing with pressure from everyone around you. It may be extra hard if we also deal with anxiety, depression, and past trauma.

I help teens (and their caregivers) and young adults:

  • Develop tools to cope with anxiety and that overwhelmed feeling
  • Implement strategies to reduce sadness and feeling alone
  • Identify unique strengths and skills
  • Communicate more effectively
  • Build your self-esteem and a sense of empowerment
  • Deal with strained relationships, especially in the family
  • Process traumatic experiences
  • Learn tactics to maintain sobriety

Hi, I'm Lish.

Life can be tough, and I feel fortunate to support clients in navigating the many changes and adjustments occurring during teen and young adult years. Depending on your interests, I like to incorporate art, music, animals, or narrative therapy techniques into sessions.  After all, this is all about you!  You'll find I strive to assist clients in feeling comfortable and at ease in sessions. Typical appointments are online but if you are based near Montgomery, TX we can meet in-person.

I'm genuine and relatable in my counseling approach.  Above all, I'm on your side and an ally in your journey.  Among many other dilemmas, I'm passionate about assisting those battling substance use and addiction challenges.  I have had experiences working at a Betty Ford outpatient center, a private practice, a community health agency and shelter. I earned a Masters degree in Counseling from Hazelden Betty Ford Graduate School and have another graduate degree in Human Resources.  Prior to offering therapy, I spent a number of years in career counseling roles at several universities.

Animals have also always been a huge part of my life and I hope to share the positive impact of the human-animal bond with you in 2025.  I am currently in training with Natural Lifemanship, working towards obtaining my trauma-informed equine-assisted therapy certification. Sessions incorporating horses will be offered in 2025 out of Magnolia, TX. Meanwhile, I volunteer to provide pet therapy to individuals with my rabbit, Maddy.

Hope to connect soon!
